What was old can still be new.

So there I was sitting in front on the old TV. Yes I mean old! I need to get a flat screen like my studio. Anyway, I was watching a program on PBS on Steinway pianos and I started thinking about the history of instruments. We got electric guitars and we still play acoustic, we got electric drum sets and we still like the sound of a full drum kit and finally we got electric keyboards and people still insist on an instrument like a Steinway. Its the purity of the sound, the craftsmanship of the product and the process of use that makes us feel as thought you are one with the piano. And it is just that, a piano, not a tool. My wife isn't just a woman!
This brings me to the hope that even thought we love our instant gratification of our digital cameras that their is still room for the creativeness and the connected feeling that is photography. After all we still love painted art and yet their is photography.
The images below were taken in Death Valley a few years ago on a Hasselblad 503cx with Ilford B&W XP2 film (the real raw). Enjoy!

Craig

Heather & Luke : Engagement

With my bags packed for a little R&R I give you one more post for the week. This is Heather and Luke. The fuzzy one in the first image is Haley. I always love when a couple brings their hairy companions along. We did the session over in Southington at Crescent Pond one evening and it was a beautiful one at that. Looking forward to photographing their wedding this October. Enjoy the images!
Ciao,
Craig

Jillian & Chiedza: Wedding

It's been a while and I am so happy to be finally posting the awesome wedding of Jillian and Chiedza! There beautiful day was back on August 8th and it truly was beautiful. You could not ask for a better day with the sun shinning and low humidity (not typical of August). Also I can't say enough about photographing at Elizabeth park. Where ever you turn in this park there is another image to be had. I never have enough time but then again who wants to be photographed all day. I have to tell you all that we had such a great time and again the two of them were awesome to work with. I just love people with great attitudes. Enjoy the images!
Ciao,
Craig

Alyssa & Michael: Engagement

Hello from the land of overwhelmed! This is in a good way of course. So anyway I apologize for the second time this summer about late blog postings. I hope to explain why soon but I know some of you out there already know.
Moving on... This is Alyssa and Michael.I was lucky enough to have them suggest one of my new coolest locations to shoot, Gouveia Vineyards in Wallingford. This was so much fun and they were so fun to work with. I know we all love a sunny day but the grey overcast was not bad at all. I'm such a optimist some times! Can't wait to photograph their wedding in October. Enjoy!

Craig

Gotta love them grapes!

It's such an awesome ring shot if I do say so my self!!!

Bonnie and Ignacy's Wedding

I'm getting there with all of these posts. Don't get too overwhelmed out there on me.
This is the wedding of Bonnie and Ignacy. We dodged a few rain drops, and thunder & lightning, but overall we had a great day. We puddle hopped some as well at Elizabeth park but I think it was well worth it. Enjoy.
Ciao,
Craig

This was the only time it down poured on us. Not bad considering the season we have had.

So Kari got creative with the little, tiny window. Thanks hun.

These two did an awesome job on the first dance. If only we all could dance as well.

We really did have a great time with the two of them. Thanks guys. Lots of fun!

Baby A.

I told all of you that I have a few posts to go up and I still have a few more. Well anyway, This is Baby A. We call her this to hide her true identity as a super hero! She is so cute and was so easy to work with. They all are especially if they are asleep. The coolest was the little bassinet. Mom had to have it so I figured we had to have some images in it. I know they are funny words coming from a big guy like me but it's all so cute!!!!
Ciao,
Craig

That basinet is so awesome. Best prop a client has had when I've shown up.

It almost looks as if she is saying "look at me, I'm cute".
